Great looking Drupal sites made easy
Fusion and Skinr bring power and ease of management to the Drupal theming process. From giving site content administrators or customers the power to make changes to the look, feel and layout of their site from within the administrative interface to rapidly building a new theme Drupal theming has never been more fun.
In this session we'll take a brief look at theming using a grid system and how to use that to make great looking sites and offer users the features they desire.
Jobfair
We're going to take over 1 session slot and use it as a jobs fair. If you're looking for work or curious about the market, this is the session for you. This will be the last session on Saturday, then it's off to the after party for more networking! :)
Anyone who is looking to hire can sign up. You get 3-5 minutes onstage to talk about your company/position/staff/benefits/answer questions, whatever you like. No more than 5 minutes though.
Sponsors will be given first priority. Volunteer/unpaid posts will also be accepted if there is time.
Basic Views
Introduction to Views
We'll cover the basics of Views, what kind of problems the module is great for solving, and what are its limitations. This session will include some live examples and solutions.
If you're not using Views on your site, or aren't sure why you should be, this session is for you!
Also, developers who think you don't need Views, this is the place to get started.
Topics will lead directly into Brenda's Advanced Views session.
Prepare to Scale
"Failures don't plan to fail; they fail to plan."
Harvey Mackay
Any site with high aspirations should have a plan in place to scale. The key is to identify the components that can help you scale and when you should implement them.
Advanced Views
This session assumes you know the basic usage of Views and dives deeper into arguments, relationships, and attachment views.
Building an Initial Custom Theme
The purpose of this session will be to show how I start creating a custom theme. I'll talk about regions, theme files and, most importantly, css. I'll also explain why I create an initial theme and what that means in the context of working with a small team on a large site.
Installation Profiles, Existing profiles and Building Strategies
This is mostly a strategy guide on how to create an installation profile and if they are worth the initial time to create and some alternatives. Based on my recent experience at work and fiddling around at home with installation profiles.
Also covering basics if you never have taken any time to look into or use an installation profile.
